Size & Measurement Guide

The size on the label is a starting point. Sizing can vary between brands, styles and eras, so we recommend comparing the garment measurements with those of a similar item that fits you well.

How to read the size

On each product page, you’ll find the size shown on the label and, when applicable, a suggested size.

For example:

Size: 42 IT | M - Suggested S/M

“Suggested” is our indication of how the item is likely to fit and does not replace the actual measurements. Also consider how you prefer to wear the garment: more fitted or with a looser fit.

How to compare measurements

Choose a garment with a similar cut and fabric. For example, rigid and stretch trousers may fit differently even when their measurements are similar.

  1. Lay the garment flat on a flat surface, with buttons and zips fastened.
  2. Smooth out the fabric without stretching it.
  3. Measure the points listed on the product page and compare the measurements.

Which measurements to consider

  • Tops, shirts and knitwear: bust, shoulders, length and sleeves.
  • Dresses: bust, waist, hips and length, depending on the cut.
  • Skirts and trousers: waist, hips and length.
  • Jackets and coats: bust, shoulders and sleeves, also considering what you plan to wear underneath.

Pay particular attention to the areas where the garment is most fitted. For a high-waisted skirt, for example, the waist measurement is especially useful.

How our measurements work

To keep things simple, we use the same measurement system throughout our product pages.

Bust, waist and hip measurements are given as the full circumference of the garment, not the width measured flat.

For example, if a garment measures 44 cm from armpit to armpit when laid flat, we list the bust measurement as approximately 88 cm.

This makes it easier to compare our measurements directly with a garment you already own.

What if the fabric is stretchy?

Whenever relevant, we indicate in the product description whether the fabric is stretchy.

Unless otherwise stated, measurements are taken with the garment relaxed and not stretched. Stretch can affect how an item fits, so for the most useful comparison, choose a garment with similar fabric characteristics.

If you would like to know how much a specific item stretches, just ask us and we can check it for you.
