How we select our pieces

A selection made to be worn today

Shape of Sunday was born from the idea that second-hand can be a genuine alternative to buying new: in terms of style, condition and the pleasure of finding something to wear.

We choose pieces we can picture in today’s wardrobes. Some stand out immediately; others reveal their appeal through their cut, construction or the way the fabric falls.

What we look for

We look at proportions, materials, construction and details. A draped detail, an interesting texture, a simple yet well-executed silhouette: each piece can have a different reason for making it into our selection.

The name on the label is one of the things we consider. What matters is the garment as a whole and what it can offer the person who chooses it.

Condition is part of the selection

We prioritise pieces in like-new or excellent condition. We check the fabric, seams, fastenings and interior, assessing any signs of wear and how they affect the garment’s appearance and functionality.

Occasionally, we include a distinctive piece despite an imperfection. When we do, we describe it and show it in the photos. We want you to appreciate what makes the piece special while knowing its condition before you buy.

Vintage and second-hand, in one selection

We bring together pieces from different eras, guided by a shared aesthetic. Vintage is part of Shape of Sunday, alongside more recent pieces that meet the same criteria for style, quality and condition.

We use the word “vintage” only when we have evidence to identify a piece as such. An aesthetic that evokes the past is not enough on its own.

From the garment to the product page

We photograph every item and gather the information you need to make your choice: size, measurements, available composition details and condition. We describe what we can observe and make it clear when information is missing or based on our own assessment.

The care we put into selecting each piece continues in the way we present it. So that what you receive matches what you chose.
